Eco-friendly Dog Dresses Made from Hemp

Posted in Dog clothes at 4:33 pm by Pet Luxury

dog clothesMy dog would kick my butt if I tried to put a dress on him, but he just doesn’t swing that way. If you’ve got a patient cutie pie for a dog, and you like to dress her up (I suppose it doesn’t have to be a her), you may dig these eco-friendly dog dresses from Earth Doggy.

“Our eco friendly hemp harness dresses are made from beautiful hemp cloth, strong yet durable. Hemp fibers are among the most durable in nature. Hemp cloth is extremely breathable, so your doggy will be cool and comfortable, and it softens with each washing without losing its strength.”

Available in pink and blue with prices from $20-$24.

A Water Bottle You and Your Dog Can Share

Posted in Dishes & feeders at 8:11 pm by Pet Luxury

doggy water bottleIf you take your dog hiking, running, or (like me) inline skating in good weather, you need to take water for your pooch too. And of course you must keep yourself hydrated as well. Normally this would mean taking two water bottles/bowls along (or a bottle for yourself and a collapsible bowl for Fido), but I saw this handy solution the last time I was at REI and I might just have to go back to get one.

The Cool Pooch Water Bottle has a sipping straw for you and a built-in water dish for your dogs. The two separate drinking areas means no nasty backsplash (as much as I love my dog, doggy slobber is still the ick), and now you can both stay hydrated on the trail.

Extra Tough Dog Bed for Your SUV or Car

Posted in Dog beds & crates at 2:17 pm by Pet Luxury

car/suv dog bedWhen I got my rescue vizsla last year, I found out quickly that he’s not big on lying on hard surfaces. I guess I can’t blame him: he doesn’t have a lot of cushy fur for padding like a lot of other breeds. I put down the back seat in my suv, but he preferred to ride shot gun! I finally got him to ride in the back (without having to tell him to get out of my passenger’s lap) by putting his dog bed back there. Now he curls up and rides nicely.

I never thought of getting a dog bed specifically sized for the back of the car, but when I saw this one over at Etsy, I thought it was a good idea. In addition, the bed is made from an extra tough material that can stand up to rowdy dogs:

“Made from durable Duck Canvas which is the same TOUGH material used Sails, Humvee Tops & Backpacks! Although nothing is 100% indestructible to an animal that can chew rawhide at ease, this is one of the toughest fabrics I can order that is still comfortable for them to sleep on! Makes a wonderful comfy bed for your pet.”

Decorate Your Pet Area with a Fire Hydrant Wall Decal

Posted in Trends at 9:44 pm by Pet Luxury

fire hydrant wall decalYou probably have an area set aside in your house where your pets’ food and water dishes hang out. Maybe there’s a dog or cat bed nearby too, and it’s the dedicated pet area.

Well, just as you decorate the walls in your living room, bedrooms, etc., you can now decorate the walls in your pet spaces. Got a dog who likes to lift a leg on every tree and fire hydrant? Then you might get a kick out of sticking this fire hydrant wall decal behind his area.

Available in glossy yellow, glossy red and black, the decals are easy to stick to the wall, and they’re supposed to be easy to remove too, so you don’t have to worry about the kind of damage that is done with stickers. It’s a fun way to decorate your pet space!

This particular decal costs $29 at Lewas Designs Etsy store (and if fire hydrants aren’t your thing, there are other decals to choose from too).
