If you’ve got an older dog who gets chilled easily, or the weather is just turning cold and Fido doesn’t like it, then perhaps you need to check into heated dog beds.

If you’re big into hunting with your dog, you may want to take the pup off road to get to the great areas where a car just can’t reach. An ATV can be perfect, but unless you want to ride with Fido in your lap, there may not have been a good spot for him to travel. Until now…

If you’ve succeeded in crate training your dog, you may actually be able to get him or her to sleep in a crate next to your bed instead of on your bed (and under the covers with the head on the pillow…). The downside is that bedrooms usually aren’t that big, and it can get crowded quickly if you’ve got a dog crate in there as well as a bed, bedside tables, dressers, etc.
The solution?
Consider combining furniture pieces. For inspiration, check out this dog crate from Crate Haven: it doubles as a dog bed and a perfectly functional bedside table.
Pick up something like this, and you’ll enjoy the extra space it frees up, and Fido will appreciate the chance to sleep so closely to you at night.

When I got my rescue vizsla last year, I found out quickly that he’s not big on lying on hard surfaces. I guess I can’t blame him: he doesn’t have a lot of cushy fur for padding like a lot of other breeds. I put down the back seat in my suv, but he preferred to ride shot gun! I finally got him to ride in the back (without having to tell him to get out of my passenger’s lap) by putting his dog bed back there. Now he curls up and rides nicely.
I never thought of getting a dog bed specifically sized for the back of the car, but when I saw this one over at Etsy, I thought it was a good idea. In addition, the bed is made from an extra tough material that can stand up to rowdy dogs:

As much as some owners tends to think otherwise, dogs are not people. So why should their dog beds mimick people beds? Why not create a nature-inspired “den” for them in your home?
