Looking for a new dog collar for your four-legged pal? Why not get one that features your dog’s breed?
These cute dog collars from “Helping Udders” are adorned with little doggie images. They’ve even got some of the less common breeds.
And by purchasing a collar, you’ll be helping the breed rescue organization of your choice, as the company has donated thousands of dollars since going online in 2004. If you’re not looking to get a new collar, check out the site anyway, as they have lots of other dog-related goodies.

What can you make from the seatbelts scavenged from junked cars? All sorts of things apparently, including dog collars and leashes.
If you’re tired of snapping that little hook onto the little ring on your dog’s collar (a difficult task if you have a squirmy dog who is always excited to go on his walk), then the ease of the seatbelt clasping system may make your day. Just as you do when you’re in the car, you simply snap the belt into the receiver:
“The Buckle-Up Lead & Collar is a sustainable, satisfying and simple alternative to existing dog leads. Simply plug the buckle on the lead into the collar, and press the button to release. Together the lead and collar are produced from a single passenger’s seatbelt.”
I admit the seatbelt look isn’t going to be for every dog, but if you’re interested, you can find more information at the company’s site:

Personalized dog collars and leashes are fun gifts for pet owners, and they’re practical too. If a collar has the dog’s name on it and your phone number, you’ve got a backup in case your pet gets lost and the tag falls off. Also, it’s nice for those times at the dog park when your pooch runs up to other people and they’re wondering what his name is (and don’t want to squint at those tiny etchings on a metal tag).
The collar and leash shown here are from Dog Owner’s World. They have quite a few personalized dog items, such as towels, bandanas, fanny packs, and t-shirts (that’s t-shirts for dogs, not people by the way).
The price for a personalized dog collar is $20 plus shipping.

If you’d like a dog ID tag with a little more personality than your standard bone-shaped disk (but you’re not ready for the ultra fancy jewel-encrusted types), then these colorful stainless steel tags could be fun.
The Red Dingo tags have a picture on the front and the engraving on the back. Choose from a fire hydrant, a dog house, a heart, a flower, a bone, a dog dish, a paw print, or a cartoon dog. Various colors are available too, so they’re easy to customize. There’s room on the back for your dog’s name, your phone number, and an optional line.

This one is probably less about luxury for your pet and more about a bit of luxury for you. If you feel like you’ve got your hands full holding treats for Fido, bags for his jobs, and possibly a clicker if you’re working on obedience training, then this hands-free leash might be a good idea.
“Here is a hands free leash system done very well. The Buddy System uses a belt around your waist with an adjustable leash attached. The leash is adjustable from 22″ to 40″ (small dog system is 33″ to 60″) and it uses a detachable swivel hook. Quick release clips make it easy to disconnect the leash from your belt or attach the unused end (when your dog is off playing) to the belt so you don’t have to carry a leash. Great for walking, jogging, hiking, or training a new puppy.”
You can also get a reflective version of the leash, for when you’re walking at night.
Available from SitStay for $24.

You’re a responsible pet owner, right? When your dog drops a pile in the middle of the sidewalk, you’re there to scoop it into a bag for later disposal, right?
But maybe sometimes you forget to stuff a bag in your pocket before you go out, or maybe you don’t even have a pocket. Wouldn’t it be convenient if the bags just popped out of the dog leash when you need them?
Well, somebody came up with just that idea. The Bags on Board Retractable Leash has a built-in bag dispenser. “Take along a doggie clean-up bag every time you walk your dog with our Bags on Board Retractable Leash. Clean-up bags fit neatly inside the handle, making it more convenient than ever to clean up after your dog.”
Reviews of the leash are positive over at PetCo, where you can purchase the retractable leash for about $20 (and, hey, the first 48 clean-up bags are included).
