Designer Cat Bells Warn Birds When Kitty Approaches
If you’ve got outdoor cats, you may want to put bells on their collars to keep them from sneaking up on and killing the neighborhood birds. (It’s just not fun plucking little bird corpses out of the yard.) When the birds hear the bell ringing, they’ll take off, warned that a furry predator is approaching.

You’ve got to walk your dog for exercise, but if you’ve got a little fellow, he/she probably can’t keep up for miles (even the big dogs would have trouble keeping up with bicycles), but here’s a way you can take your smaller pets along on a nice bike ride. There’s no way my vizsla would fit in this pet bicycle basket (not that I could get him to keep from jumping out even if he would fit), but a chihuahua or other small dog (or even cats, ferrets, parrots, whatever!) could easily go along for a ride.
Unless you’re going to button this to your dog’s collar, you probably wouldn’t consider it a real pet accessory, but I’m going to write about this water bottle holder here anyway, since I recently bought one for dog walking (actually inline skating) this summer. Of course, mine was just a little clip that attaches to your belt loop and has a rubber doodad on the end to fasten around the neck of a water bottle. Too bad. This one would doubtlessly attract more attention.
If you’re training a new puppy, treats are often the best motivation to get them to do what you want. You’ll need some place to carry those treats where you can access them quickly.
