Designer Cat Bells Warn Birds When Kitty Approaches

Posted in Pet Accessories at 5:45 pm by Pet Luxury

Silver Cat BellsIf you’ve got outdoor cats, you may want to put bells on their collars to keep them from sneaking up on and killing the neighborhood birds. (It’s just not fun plucking little bird corpses out of the yard.) When the birds hear the bell ringing, they’ll take off, warned that a furry predator is approaching.

Any old cat bell will do, but if you like to give your pets the designer luxury look, then you may appreciate these sterling silver pet bells from Animal Stars.

“Our beautiful sterling silver bells are hand crafted using Lost-wax Casting process. Each bell has it’s own wonderfully unique tone. They sound like tiny wind chimes, all beautiful and just a bit different in tone.”

Bicycle Basket for Your Pet

Posted in Pet Accessories at 2:21 pm by Pet Luxury

pet bicycle basketYou’ve got to walk your dog for exercise, but if you’ve got a little fellow, he/she probably can’t keep up for miles (even the big dogs would have trouble keeping up with bicycles), but here’s a way you can take your smaller pets along on a nice bike ride. There’s no way my vizsla would fit in this pet bicycle basket (not that I could get him to keep from jumping out even if he would fit), but a chihuahua or other small dog (or even cats, ferrets, parrots, whatever!) could easily go along for a ride.

The basket mounts to the handlebars, so it should install on just about any bike.

You can pick up the pink and black (hey, we didn’t say it was manly) front-mounted bicycle basket from Amazon for under $60:

Knitted Pink Water Bottle Holder Fastens to Belt Loop

Posted in Pet Accessories at 12:58 pm by Pet Luxury

water bottle holderUnless you’re going to button this to your dog’s collar, you probably wouldn’t consider it a real pet accessory, but I’m going to write about this water bottle holder here anyway, since I recently bought one for dog walking (actually inline skating) this summer. Of course, mine was just a little clip that attaches to your belt loop and has a rubber doodad on the end to fasten around the neck of a water bottle. Too bad. This one would doubtlessly attract more attention.

Anyway, a water bottle is nice to have with you on a dog walk once the weather gets warm (and yes–as if you had to ask–the water is for my dog and not me), and this is certainly a little cuter (albeit way more feminine) than the generic one I got.

It’s available from a shop on Etsy (a site that specializes in making it easy for people to sell their home-made/hand-crafted items). Here’s the description:

“This water bottle holder is hand crocheted out of 100% cotton pink yarn. It holds standard 500 ml and 20 oz. water bottles. Your favorite 20 oz. cold drink will also fit nicely in this holder.”

$8 from the CrochetMaggie shop.

Luxury Leather Dog Treat Pouch

Posted in Pet Accessories at 2:03 pm by Pet Luxury

Leather Dog Treat PouchIf you’re training a new puppy, treats are often the best motivation to get them to do what you want. You’ll need some place to carry those treats where you can access them quickly. Sure you can use a ziplock baggy, but if you’re looking for something a little classier, check out this leather treat pouch.

“Carry those dog treats the luxury way… Or attach it to your leash or belt loop and carry those poopie bags in style.”

The pouch is made from metallic leather with metallic appliqué and a drawcord closure, to keep dog noses from finding their way inside. It’s available in turquoise with a gold bone on the front, in gold with pink heart, or in pink with a gold star.
